It seems obvious that prevention is preferrable to waiting until treatment is needed and this is the focus of our training and educational work. Unfortunately, this type of early intervention is not always enough and it is estimated that 1 in 6 adults experience symptoms of common mental health problems such as anxiety or depression, almost 50% of adults believe that in their lifetime they have had a diagnosable mental illness and 1 in 5 have considered taking their own life at some point.
What we do
Clinical psychologists within Cognisant have many years of experience working with people with mental health illness and can support clubs to help any members with such difficulties.
We carry out an initial assessment and signpost people to the appropriate statutory service or can provide therapeutic input with a Cognisant consultant.
